So Rob and Rudolph you'd like to live in a world where there were no fire brigades, no planning control (fancy a brothel or chemical plant next to your house?), no control on licensing pubs (again one open in your road at 3am perchance?), no police etc etc.
When are you going to learn how to present an honest argument OS? What they are staying is that the state and its employees have become over mighty. That they no longer see themselves as servants of the public, but as our masters.
You and CJ mock me for standing up against this, and, by your intellectual dishonesty, have driven OH elsewhere to write a blog which is number 12 in this months Wikio rankings.

OH feels no aversion to telling lies about me and others. You are a mug to believe him. The quote I responded to in this thread was Quote: Their remit is simple, sweep the streets, keep them lit and empty the bins. And cut the grass in the park. It does not say anything about transfering other responsibilities to central government so it effectively says policing, planning & licensing control would cease. In such idiot circumstances you most certainly would find brothels and pubs open at all sorts of times and places. For record Rudolph has since posted that he thinks those aspects should be central government. Not a good approach imho. "Intellectual dishonesty". Oh I think you are the master of that DP

Steve, we will have to disagree over who is the least intellectualy dis- honest,. and yes, from what I have read over the years, I think that OH is a far more honest man than your goodself.
With regard to fire services, planning, licensing etc, there is no reason why they should not be privatised, as for the police, parts have alreading been hived off, perhaps there is scope for more.

So you will find it ever so easy to find a dishonest quotation from me. So there's a challenge for you: put up or shut up

Jethro flung his hat into the ring, but appears to have withdrawn it.
