Which ever way it decomposes food will always give off the same gases.
This is true, but eaten food has at least done something useful on it's journey, that which is disposed of before going through the digestive system hasn't!

Hats off to OH for knowing that leaves produce methane, he is surprisingly knowledgeable for someone of such tender years, albeit well past middle age!

Elvis,

You are a very ungrateful expatriate.

OH has taken time off from his onerous duties at the G8 summit and all you can do is mock him.

Elvis, it comes down to this:

1. You and Mr Brown wish to make me buy and consume food in the way which you believe I should do, regardless of my situation, circumstances or preferences.

2. I wish to do as I please with regards to my food purchasing and consumption, thanks very much.

Which option would you, if you're honest, consider me the bigger fool for going with?

You're a fool for buying food to discard uneaten and you'd be a bigger fool if you bought more food just to spite Bruin.

Your 'situation, circumstances or preferences' allow you to buy whatever you wish, but it doesn't make you any less a fool for over buying.

Just think of all that food that gets thrown away by the EU politburo because it is not straight/round/large enough to be offered to the slaves. Just think of all the fallow fields the EU pays farmers to not farm. Just think of all the fish thrown back dead into the sea at the behest of some unelected Belgian.

As I said before, I'd rather chuck food away than run out and have to re-shop at a time that may not be convenient.

Sorry, I have better things to do than shop as if it's some kind of SAS operation.

But also as I said before, it does not help when most food I end up with in my basket seems to have a use by date two or three days from the date of purchase.

And, yes, I realise that the use by date is wildly understated and, yes, I do have a state-of-the-art fridge that's meticulously clean but, frankly, I'd rather Broon got a bit hot under the collar about my waste food than I got a mild bout of stomach cramps off an out of date Prawn Curry because some retard at the supermarket end hadn't stored it properly, thus rendering the use by date an absolute cut off point.

You can't have forgotten his bulimia, confessed to in his 'memoirs' in a hopelessly forlorn bid for public sympathy.

That reminds me, did anyone see Jabba on Gordon Ramsay's F Word recently?

He struck me as even more repulsive and evil than I'd previously thought.

And Ramsay initially cornering him as the fat bastard was shovelling fish and chips down his throat in the same queue he was in to pay for the damn things was priceless.

Surprised no one has commented on Browns green drive to save food by eating from his nose.

Just for the record Anthony Worral Thompson is my second cousin - yes, really. A fatter, more stupid, over-opinionated, arrogant, deluded, talentless. mouth breathing carrot you could not wish to meet

(it runs in the family, obviously)

A bit too much food perhaps (obviously to avoid unneccessary waste).

In a thread with a number of Prescott references, that's quite some statement.
