Re: Tennis
Kinda expected this post on this forum  As to pro rata, only the 4 slams are 5 sets, with generally only the top players qualifying for those. Rest of the time on the various tours they all play best of 3. She did somewhat lose it, but out of the blue as far as she was concerned, in a slam fin...

Re: Royal Wedding
The dreadful Merkin 'preacher' was a complete embarrassment. Who did he imagine he was 'addressing': a chapel in hicktown Alabama? Totally inappropriate for both the occasion and the locale. Well you won't be surprised to hear that I thought it was a stonking good address , appropriate to the situa...

Re: Cost of priner inks
Just a thought, but surely DP most of your printing needs relate to banging off letters of complaint or chasing compo; so why need a colour printer?

Re: Cost of priner inks
I find that much of our printing needs are black and white, so we've had a small b/w laser printer the last 10 years, with a colour inket for when it has to be colour. The laser costs a fraction of a colour one to run. Going off at a tangent, the printer ink scandal is just one of the more obvious, ...

Michael Anderson, maker of some darn good films, has heard the heavenly call of "Cut, that's a wrap."

Re: The Obituary Thread
A balanced debate on GOM? I'm afraid that ship sailed years ago, OG. Little new in this thread. If you are genuinely curious suggest you search for "God" to find endless God "debates" on this forum. You possibly took part in them, as I think some GOM are into reincarnation. :wink...

Re: Circumcision
Yes, I heard the Moral Maze too. Not the best debate that could have been had on the subject, but some interesting points made. Circumcision. One of the Ten Commandments? - no. Not in the ten commandments*, no, but clearly a scriptural command to do so. It is inherent to the Jewish belief in the way...

Re: The Obituary Thread
What if there is no God? That's 99 years of missed opportunity in the wine women and song department, poor sod. Yes, he was missed out on the wine, but plenty do manage happily without it. As for women, he had the faithful companionship of a wonderful woman for over 60 years. Many a womaniser would...
