Re: Price of petrol

Presumably it is all down to Putin's War in Ukraine.?

OR, the greed of the supply and sales chain!!

Re: Price of petrol

"It's not just the motorist who is being clobbered. Haulage costs are passed on through everything we buy so the price hike is inflationary". That would be a huge rip-off because the fuel purchased and used by any genuine transport business would of course be a running cost deductible and ...

Re: Will you ever fly again?

Indeed DC, I would rather spend the money in good restaurants not a million miles from Maidenhead For a good meal in a decent setting, may I recommend 👇 Antico's Restaurant at 42 High Street, Eton. 01753 863 977. In over 35 yrs I've never been disappointed with the food or the service. Or as a good...

Re: Boris shall not pass!

The sooner 'partygate' is over, the better. At worst, Bojo will have to pay a nominal fine . It's all a big distraction from some really serious issues. A fine? What about the statute of limitations of 6 months for a fixed penalty misdemeanour? .. .. and all this staged faux outrage at Starmer in t...

Re: Gas

With the latest political shenanigans, I've decided on relinquishing any political party preference. I've got maybe four more elections left - As a selfish grumpy pensioner, I'll vote for whoever does good for pensions and pensioners. Don't hold your breath. They are all self serving snollygosters ...

Re: Was Whoopie wrong?

I don't know if Whoopi was right or wrong, but this twat, who has always annoyed me, seems to have shot himself in the foot. He describes his programme as 'a career ender.' Let's bloody well hope so. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-60261876 As someone originally of Jewish extraction, ...

Re: Gas

It matters little which plan/tariff you decide upon, the supplier will always screw as much as legally possible from you at every possible opportunity. With the toe toasting option of a roaring coal/log fire becoming more difficult as time marches on, it'll soon be the case of pay up and feel warm o...

Re: Things you thought you knew.

I now know it's a load of bollocks that lightning doesn't strike the same place twice. A recent storm provided lightning which struck the same tree that was struck just a few weeks previously only this time it completely destroyed it. Bollocks in this life seem to abound!

Re: Disappearing dipsticks.

One of the best gadgets I have ever bought is a "kicker". Instead of taking my Range Rover to the local rip off main dealers to have the system re set, I plug it in and in seconds it has done the job for free. :D Oh yes, its the same with the fault code reader. Providing the displayed cod...

Re: Disappearing dipsticks.

Ask any auto technician if they trust an OLM (oil life monitor) and they will say "no way"! That is because they do not have a clue about how they work. These "technicians" are only trained on the basics they no longer need to know how every component works. The OBD tells them w...

Re: Feckin' Asthma

Pollution may have some influence, but according to my hospital consultant, there are far too many concealed food additives that are included under the heading 'permitted additives' and some of those are are able to precondition our bodies, especially those of children, to become allergic to various...

Re: Feckin' Asthma

I feel for you Bounders. My last review was with a new NP and she suggested I try a dose of sodium chloride in my nebuliser just before I retire to bed, and that has made one heck of a difference. It might not work for you but for me is has made a difference, but then for my youthful sins of smoking...
