As I recall, it had been cut up but was recast. Everything was ticketyboo when I visited it last year.

As the in-house atheist, I declare this anti-abortion thing to be a crock of shite. As OG says, nobody likes it but it's a necessary evil in some cases. The problem with America is that it is so bloody big that it will now be necessary to travel vast distances to get an abortion, this being fine for...

Re: Price of petrol

I wish LPG could be given more of a chance. I run my Range Rover on it. it's a clean fuel but doesn't escape the so called "low emission zones" so beloved by environmental do - gooders. I noticed LPG to be £1.20 a shot this week. I don't really follow the price of it much but I'm sure tha...

The local butcher makes chilli and garlic sausages, which taste sublime. And hot.

Re: Theft beyond belief

About fifteen years ago, some feckers nicked a bronze plaque from Plymouth War Memorial and tried to flog it to a scrappy. Unusually, the scrappy was decidedly honest and shopped said feckers to the local bluebottle. If there are people out there who can attempt to gain a few quid by desecrating a w...

Re: Price of petrol

It cost me thirty pieces of silver this morning just to buy enough petrol to keep the lawnmower running until the end of the season. [SMUG BASTARD MODE ON]I recently procured a plug-in hybrid car which I connect to my solar panels, therefore the commute to work is free, at this time of year at least...

Unless Rwanda is actually a horrible place to live,
I have a friend who once visited Kigali. He assures me that it's a dump.

I rather like the model of an apolitical monarch. Chas needs to zip it. Unfortunately we are not all in the forelock pulling brigade, but have high regard for the Queen. There's nothing unfortunate about that. I have deep respect for Brenda without much enthusiasm for the others. However, as I have ...

Re: The Honourable Member for the 18th century.

I was clearly wrong about JRM.

When Theresa May faced a vote of no confidence he suggested that anything below two thirds should see her out on her ear, but today he suggested that BoJo needs a simple majority to survive.

I agree too.

Rod Stewart made my ears bleed but the problems faced by Diana Ross are more acute. Every time she had to go up or down the steps the camera cut away. I wonder why.

then came PPI with its exhortations to get cash back from your bank and give them half in the process, I got £12k back from my bank, although I did it by filling in a form in the branch rather than using a claims company. Mine expired just before the pandemic kicked in and I CBA'd to do anything about it. There's lots of this country that I haven't seen yet so that's where my focus will be for the foreseeable future.
