Re: The Conservative Party Leadership Race
Do I choose to be racist or sexist? I would not trust either of them to run a bath. IF you are still a member of the Tory Party then say goodbye to Rishi. The Party membership will never vote for Johny foreigner as PM but they would never admit to being racist either. Heaven forfend!... Perish the ...

Re: The Conservative Party Leadership Race
If I vote for her, I am accused of being racist , if I vote for him, I am accused of being sexist. Which to choose? I would choose which ever one you think would make the best P.M. Personally, I would choose Rishi over Truss based on the fact that he has made £200M from modest beginnings. You need ...

Re: The Conservative Party Leadership Race
I thought the reason why they ditched Boris was because he lied. Liz Truss promptly did an about turn on her 'sack the workers and save a quid' policy and claimed that she had been mis represented - which was a lie.
They ALL lie.
They ALL lie.

Re: Archie Battersbee
O.K. I put my hands up. If, as you have explained, the Mother was not given false hope then she should have been made aware of all the potential outcomes; if she had been, then she is opining on a subject with which she has no knowledge or experience and is choosing to substitute personal opinion fo...

Re: Disposable Barbeques
IT seems to me the real problem is one of inconsiderate disposal. The people who discard these horrible little things with no regard to the consequences are likely the same type who litter the parking area opposite my house with fast food containers and plastic drinks bottles. The older chavs dump b...

Re: Archie Battersbee
So if Doctors knew this poor lad had no chance of survival, why did they put him on life support in the first place? The Mother was obviously given false hope so it is no surprise to me that she thinks life support should continue.

Re: The Bristol Four
I don't think it was mindless. I think the toppling of the statue was probably a deliberate - if misguided - act of protest. A prison sentence would not have acted as a deterrent; indeed the Judge may well have considered that such a punishment could have resulted in the accused being hailed as mart...

Re: The Bristol Four
I would have been more understanding if the four people charged were black. It is yet another example of offence being taken by some on behalf of others.

Re: The Bristol Four
They should all get at least two years, what kind of message are we giving these brain dead vandals? It opens the floodgates for others just as stupid as these four to do the same and think they can get away with it. So you think these stupid individuals should be remanded AT OUR EXPENSE for two ye...

Re: The Bristol Four
I don't think it matters one way or the other. Some people tore down a statue for their own reasons. Other people think the statue was O.K and have put it in a museum. The Slave Trade was abolished hundreds of years ago and is now only of historical interest. What individuals did in the distant past...

As a matter of little consequence, the Citroen 2CV was only ever petrol. I wouldn't have a Renault if you paid me; let alone a Diesel... but perhaps that's the wrong attitude. Being a classic car restorer, I am familiar with the Citroen Traction Avant although I doubt there are many French now who h...
