Any chance of moving the indicator for users browsing to the top of the page?
(where it sort of used to be)
Please :)
It is nice to see who's there when you go to the Forums.

It's never accurate Pa, I've often seen my name missing and that of others.
I think it may depend on which browser one uses, but it's erratic at best.

We now have that magical logo above our avatars, to denote who is on or offline at any time.

Anyway, Mozo hasn't asked for it yet, so it probably won't happen.

I'll pass it on to the admin as I agree it was better at the top.

It's not totally accurate, some users hide their on line status but it's better than nowt.

Oh and Mozo was definitely right on putiing those buttons on the right, much easier now. Weird that it makes that much difference

Let's test it then El. The indicator above your user name implies that you are online but the indicator at the bottom omits you.

Which is right? :?

Edit! Now both say you're offline

Double edit!!! Now it says online :? :? :? :?

When you find out, let me know.

I've been online and logged into GOM for about 3 hours, but it's possible that when we're reading another internet page, it clocks us off.

I'm confussed :?
I don't know if I'm on line off line or hooked on a line?

I only asked if we could show names at the top.

I feel like I've missed the 10.40 from Liverpool street now
:(

The indicator above the avatar reveals if the user is online and viewing the site and the name at the bottom reveals who is looking at the same part of the forum.

Whatever, it isn't going to change anytime soon.

Sorry PaRug I asked but your request missed the window of refining things and to be honest if the men with IT spanners changed it then someone would have moaned and it might have affected something else and life wouldn't have been worth living

or should I see even less worth living (we are grumpers after all)

As for that online/offline indicator by the avatar it's always puzzled me, that's why I took the piss with my signature
