Is there any way I can get this forum to display only UNREAD messages? I have my Outlook and NG readers set up like this and it's much easier. In this forum, you get notified of threads that have new posts, but still have to trawl through tons of stuff to find where the new stuff starts. Add to that the fact that (for me at least) the site is slow to load a new page - speed hasn't changed significantly since I went to broadband - and browsing this excellent site can be a bit frustrating.

The present setup may be OK for people who are logged in more-or-less 24/7, but if you are away for a few days it is easier to "mark all read" and start afresh.

Not a moan, cos I love the site. Just a query.

If you log in, then log out, then log in again doesn't it presume you've read everything and start you afresh?

Could do, but then it's easier to click the "mark all messages read" button on the forum page.

What I tend to do is read the forum for a day or two and then perhaps not again for a week. If I want to catch up with Holly's bra clips or PTMS or whatever, I have to take a rough guess at where I read up to and then look at page after page until I get to a new (to me) post. I use OE for newsgroups and have it set to hide read messages. When I open it, there might be a hundred threads in there, but I only see the new postings. That's a lot more convenient.

I'm not sure the software of this site is capable of something like that, but I thought I'd ask in case I'd missed something obvious.

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply.

BD

We will look into your question and get back to you but I doubt that this system has that capacity.
