Yep we don't like pedantic diversion of threads too much. Even if the ghost of Elvis past still returns occasionally.

Anyway IMHO "he may of" is a written form of a mispronounciation of "he may have" a combination of a conditional "may" and past tense "have" to the participle "got"

But but but

Many years ago I failed English O level so WTF do I really know?

May I suggest a visit to The Apostrophe Protection Society for a definitive answer to most punctuation and grammar questions..
