"Git" Awards Nominees and Voting

Post by faulkner »

Thank you for all your contributions so far, we have posted up as a poll in each popular category a shortlist of the candidates nominated and would ask that you vote for the personality you think best deserves to get our pretigious GOM Grumpy "Git" Award in that category for 2008.

Its a bit like the Oscars only grumpier its the "Gits"

Winners will be obvious as voting closes on Thusrday August 14th, we will then of course be notifying the lucky winner of their success.

Don't suppose we will be get any "thank you" speeches but you never know.

I thought that it said pretentious GOM Grumpy "Git" Award, if it does I would like to nominate Sciatico and Old Holborn.

This award should be for the poster who rarely does anything more than pop in from time to time to disagree with something someone has written in a personally insulting fashion and for that I nominate Spigot.

As overall "GIT," I would nominate Old Hobo, but he already has plenty of awards for being an idiot etc and wallows in them, so I won't.

If Kara Tointon happens to win the Crumpet award, I trust you will be asking her to show appropriate gratitude to whoever nominated her for such a coveted award. No speeches though, please; rude to talk with your mouth full.

I shall be voting for myself, and in the unlikely event that I do not win I shall be as grump as hell.

Camebridge Dictionary definition of a git:

"a person, especially a man, who is stupid or unpleasant"

I don't personally think CJ is either.

Are we asking GOM's to vote for who is the biggest git on GOM or the biggest git in the outside world. I'm not sure which is why I've not voted so far.

Me.

As for gits - having had the pleasure of your dictionary definition, my vote goes to Sciatico. I'd also award him many other titles, but the swear filter won't allow it, so git will suffice.

Just a reminder that voting closes tommorrow morning.

Winners for each category will be obvious but we will be announcing the presentation details of the GOM "Git" award tommorrow as well.

So is a GIT an exceptional GOM or a complete turd?
