Just had my over 75 TV licence demand.
Am I an idiot or does Linekers salary of £1.75 million equate to 11,146 TV licences @ £157 ?
It cannot be! I know the BBC is crap, and Lineker ****, but how can we put a stop to this insult to our intelligence.
Can someone check my maths cos I am very old.

Using normal rounding conventions, your calculation is correct.

There are some who will never boycott the BBC and tolerate Lineker to watch their football - but there are other crisp manufacturers than Walkers........if their market share were to drop, they could hopefully drop Lineker like a cold potatoe.

Linekar is the absolute example of the new middle class liberal.
Affluent ? Tick
Lives in a predominantly white gated community ? Tick.
Control freak ? Tick
Nice person image ? Tick
But vicious underneath image ? Tick (ask the ex wives and girlfriends)

Look, here's the deal.....
All over 75's boycott Walkers crisps.
Lineker gets the revenue from 11,146 over 75's licences. ie zero
I mean, how much extra does it cost the BBC to pump a signal out to pensioners?

Just helped my 92 year old Mum fill out a cheque for her TV licence.
I don't know how Lineker sleeps at night.

I'm no fan of the BBC and haven't hidden that fact from anyone for many years. It's just a broadcasting arm for the left-of-centre mindset.

On the subject of Gary Lineker, I actually used to quite like Match Of The Day going back some 20-25 years. I still managed to stomach it for a few years into his tenure. However, it's now a show I've not seen for a good number of years and for at least the last six or seven years have refused to watch outright. I simply cannot stand him – and that's even before you get onto the subject of his salary. I believe he's even worse with his snide remarks and sarcastic quips against anyone who views things differently to him when it comes to social media.

T'other tunes in for the depressing and poorly acted rubbish that's EastEnders (I'm normally reading at this point in the evening) but other than that, we rarely watch anything on the BBC. When it comes to radio, I still enjoy Ken Bruce on Radio 2 but that's about it. I used to enjoy Radio 4 but in recent years that seems to have become another mouthpiece for Green/Labour MP’s and activists. I don't bother with it any more.

Boris would win back at least some scrap of credit if he called time on the TV Licence. We'll then soon see how long the rotten corporation with it's hatred of traditional Britain lasts without forced public funding.

He's only marginally less inane than Lineker.

Agreed . But he doesn't waffle on with his "all about me" wokery.
Unlike Saint Gary of Linekar

All examples of top quality programmes that the BBC does brilliantly.

I would willingly sell my house, and all its contents, to keep the BBC going. If they scrapped the licence fee, it would join the other channels in the race to the bottom, making even more dumbed-down rubbish programs featuring Z-list 'celebs' whom nobody has heard of.

And Paddy McGuinness is far more annoying than Lineker.

IIRC, Mr McGuinness has never been entered for the Bellend D'Or competition, let alone win it.
