Watching last night's news, two seemingly unconnected items.
Firstly, they were a wailing about the massive 4.1% increase in youth unemployment.
Later, they reported on the WASPI women losing their appeal to retire at 60, with the government continuing to raise the retirement age for both men and women.
Surely, if.........

The amount of pension entitlement that the Government has stolen - YES STOLEN - from some women is scandalous. Justice? What justice?

Women want equality? They get it. You can't pick and choose when to be equal and when you get special privileges.

I agree. What's the next agendum, equality or superiority?

No, what I was alluding to, was if women retired at 60, they would each be giving seven or eight years employment opportunity to a youngster. The combination of not paying benefits and recieving income tax from the youngsters would surely offset the womens' state pensions.
If it works, we could then reduce mens retirement to 60 - all for equality and all that......

Through reading their website they seem to accept the need for state pension equality, but only after they have received theirs at the earlier age

With respect, Andy, I think you are missing the point. The objection is that the original pro rata scheme was suddenly dropped and another year added. To jump from 60 to 66 was simply unfair.
