As the article says, despite a 6.74% tax hike and hiring new chief executive on a whopping £205k salary, the BCP Council in Dorset announced it can't afford to put on an Armed Forces Day event for the annual commemoration on 27th June.
Yet the council has been happy to do, from what I can find:
* Africa Comes to Bournemouth 2025: Supported as part of a weekend celebrating African music, dance, and culture.
* Filipino Barrio Fiesta
* Bourne Free Pride Festival
There's likely others...
Maybe they're lying to appease the usual crowd? Clearly it's becoming an area to avoid if you love our country and our heritage.

Being pessimistic is a good thing - that way you’re never disappointed.
