The EU parliament voted against this.
They made them vote again.
Over half voted against it.
However, because it isn't a supermajority (361) it isn't rejected.
This is how the EU works - completely corrupt to its core.
We all know this is not about protecting children, but about mass surveillance. This was never going to be approved under normal circumstances, as was proven the last two times they tried to pass it. That is why they decided to do it now at the last minute when many MEPs were not there. But also, shame on the MEPs who were already absent; you were elected to do this job, not to go on holiday early.
Genuinely what do the people of Europe even do at this point? We are being ran by authoritarian satanists who want nothing but absolute control and destruction. Something is clearly hell bent on surveillance regimes worldwide. When privacy loses through procedure instead of principle, everyone has reason to pay attention.
Mass scanning of private communications approved by the institution that writes GDPR is a level of cognitive dissonance that deserves its own case study.

Being pessimistic is a good thing - that way you’re never disappointed.
