Surely those appointed the the BoE board should be economists or those with a long history of working, successfully, within the banking sector? This is a pure political plant in more ways than one and is a clear indication of where Britain's economy is heading. I'm sure the IMF will be back here again as Labour run out of other people's money, are borrowing to waste more money and do not have a clue or, even if they did, the inclination to change the road we are unfortunately on.
We are witnessing the payback for the Labour support from the Unions. I suspect this will be the first of many appointments of Trade union officials, who support Labour policies with cash but are not politically active. The last thing in the world we need is union interference with the Bank Of England. I honestly thought a little better of John Healey.
Meanwhile, the left are worried about two crypto billionaires and Reform donations.
